Nathan proposed to me in our garage one night after work. I was in the middle of having a shower when the power turned off, and Nathan screamed out, ‘HELP!’. I ran downstairs to the garage (butt naked, dripping wet, with a full head of shampoo) and found Nathan on one knee surrounded by flower petals that he had picked from our garden and candles in the shape of a love heart. Afterward, we went out to dinner, and he told me he’d booked us a trip overseas and that I needed to go home and pack my bags because we were flying out the next day.
Our song was Have I Told You Lately by Van Morrison.
My biggest tip is to try not to stress over the little things (even though at the time they seem big). And also, the day goes so fast, so make sure you enjoy every moment of it!

Practice your vows together before hand at home on a date night. It made it really special and we both felt so comfortable on the day with just a couple of tears instead of choking them back.
Don’t have a pre-conceived expectation of how you’re going to feel, or how the day will go. Just plan it so it reflects you guys and what you want. The day will plan out exactly as it’s meant to, and if you stay true to who you are then it will be perfect and honestly, one of the best days of your life!
