Ciara & Trent

How did you meet?

Our first contact was via a very romantic Tinder match. We happened to notice that the majority of pictures that Ciara had used in her profile contained our mutual friend Emma and Trent found it strange that we hadn’t bumped into each other at a party or gathering of Emma’s. Only a small introduction was needed as Emma’s birthday was a couple of days away and we looked forward to meeting each other there. We met at the party and shortly after started to date.

How did they pop the question?

In May 2022 we hired a Campervan for 10 days and made our way down the Northern NSW coastline staying overnight in a few locations. On this is the trip Trent proposed. On our first night, we stayed at the Broken Head Holiday Park and Trent had been for a wonderful surf in the morning. It was a crisp sunny day and after breakfast, Trent decided to make his move while Ciara was showering and grabbed the ring and take it out on the beach. Trent found a nice log to sit on and messaged Ciara to come to enjoy the morning before we packed and took off to our next destination. Ciara saw Trent on the beach and walked over and sat down beside him. After a bit of unrelated conversation, Trent took the ring from behind the log and proposed on the beach. Ciara said yes and we continued on our holiday enjoying time together newly engaged.

What was the wedding planning process like for you?

The wedding planning process was quite enjoyable. There were only 9 months between when we got engaged and our wedding date. I found this the perfect amount of time, not too long but also not too short. I bought a wedding planning journal and worked my way through the list month by month. Ticking one or two things off at a time. We were really lucky as most of the vendors I reached out to work with were available on our date, so we didn’t have any trouble with them being too busy or booked out. My sisters (who were my bridesmaids) were very helpful throughout the process, allowing me to talk over many many details sometimes on a daily basis.

What song was your first dance?

Fly Me to The Moon – Frank Sinatra.

Your words of wisdom to any couple getting married?

Enjoy the planning process, don’t stress. It will all come together and at the end of the day, the most important thing is that you are married. The day does fly by but it really is the most amazing day and surreal experience.

Try to relax on the day and take as much in as possible. Little things will most likely go wrong on the day, but no one else will notice. Most importantly, have the best day ever!

I burst into tears, crying before saying yes! It was all so unexpected after the day, but it was perfect!
