How did he pop the question?

We were on holiday in Santorini together after having spent a week apart traveling to different countries. We were meant to arrive at the island on the same day, but James’ flight was delayed by 7 hours so I spent the day relaxing on my own until he arrived late that afternoon. Not knowing what time he would arrive we hadn’t booked anywhere for dinner so we just took a chance and managed to get a spot at a beautiful little restaurant with beautiful sunset views of the caldera. We had the most amazing dinner with delicious wine before heading back to our hotel. We were on our balcony, cuddling and overlooking the ocean when James started to tell me how much he loved me. He then got down on one knee, pulled out a ring box from his pocket, and asked me to marry him. I burst into tears, crying before saying yes! It was all so unexpected after the day, but it was perfect!

Your biggest tip to any couple getting married?

Enjoy every moment and take 10 minutes at some point during the evening with just the two of you to go and have a drink together outside somewhere looking back on everyone enjoying themselves. It all goes by so quickly, you really need to make sure you take it all in.

Although you’ve spent so much time and effort planning your wedding, try not to give that thought on an actual day. You can’t change anything at that point and things will be perfect no matter what happens. Trust your suppliers are all over it and we promise you won’t remember or notice half of the things you had planned. You’ll just remember how much fun it was. Everyone says it, but it really is the best day of your life!
